Evidence For Christianity

Documenting The Overwhelming Evidence For The Christian Faith

Is A 3,000 Year Old Defensive Wall Evidence For The Historicity Of King Solomon?

Archaeologists in Jerusalem have unearthed a 3,000 year old defensive wall that many believe may have been built by King Solomon.  The wall is 230 feet long and is approximately 20 feet tall and it is estimated that it was built in the tenth century B.C.  The wall is located between the Temple Mount and the ancient City of David.

The archaeologist in charge of this excavation, Eilat Mazar, believes that the remains that have been discovered are the very first archaeological evidence of a defensive wall that King Solomon built mentioned in the book of I Kings.

In I Kings 3:1, the Scriptures tell us this....

Solomon made an alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt and married his daughter. He brought her to the City of David until he finished building his palace and the temple of the LORD, and the wall around Jerusalem.

The reality is that whether this new discovery is that wall or not, the truth is that archaeology has confirmed the Bible over and over and over.  If humanity has enough time left, archaeology will continue to uncover more evidence for Christianity.

Why?

Because the Christian faith is real and the Bible is true.

There isn't any amount of evidence that will convince atheists of the Bible's truth because atheism isn't the result of evidence. Atheism is a fool's paradise. Nothing more. Nothig less.
